Fisher accepted into TRIAD Fellowship

fisherLogan Fisher has been accepted into the Longwood Garden TRIAD Fellowship. The TRIAD Fellowship is a partnership among the National Trust's Hidcote Manor Garden in Gloucestershire, UK; the Alliance of Hyogo in Awaji Island, Japan; and Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, USA. Each year, two horticulturists from each institution are chosen to participate in the Fellowship. The TRIAD Fellows spend four months living, working, and learning in each of the three world-class public gardens. 

Fisher will start the Fellowship program at the end of April 2018 and will travel to Hidcote Manor Garden in Gloucestershire, UK for the first four months of the program.

Departmental Highlights

  • Emily Hyde received 3rd place at the Arizona Water Resources Research Center for her poster titled 'Leachability of Inorganic N and P from Turfgrass Leaf Tissue.' Emily is an undergraduate Environmental Sciences student mentored by Dr. Charles Fontanier. Funding for her travel was provided in part through the OAES/CASNR Undergraduate Research Scholars program.
  • Joshua Campbell and Mike Schnelle, Oklahoma State University along with Steve George, Texas A&M Dallas, received the Team Award for Superior Service from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension at College Station, Texas. The award is based on ongoing EarthKind Extension and research efforts by both universities.
  • Dr. Mike Schnelle was awarded the Henry M. Covington Extension Award at the Southern Region - ASHS in Jacksonville, Florida, February 4, 2018 for his outstanding extension work and valuable contributions in horticultural activities.
