Davis receives prestigious USGA Green Section Internship

Phillip Davis, a senior at Oklahoma State University majoring in horticulture turf management was awarded a United States Golf Association (USGA) Green Section Internship between May and August.  Davis will travel with one of the USGA regional directors or agronomists to a variety of golf facilities participating in the Course Consulting Service. Golf courses will vary from public to private and at a broad variety of budget levels. In addition to the USGA staff, interactions will include a golf course superintendents, course officials and Green Committees

Throughout the United States fourteen to sixteen students are awarded the week long internship between May and August. Students gain a broad view of the golf course industry and expand their learning about golf course maintenance through the perspective of the USDA Green Section staff. 

Davis will be participating in the Green Section internship in addition to his 2017 summer internship at Four Seasons Resort Club Dallas at Las Colinas. He is an active member of the OSU Turf Club and is currently the Turf Club president.
