An introduction to the history, theory and practice of creating gardens in harmony with the local ecology that express aesthetic and cultural values of individuals and societies.

An on-line and on-site experience about creating gardens that relate to place. Lectures, readings, discussions, field trip and a workshop design project will explore how gardens become sustainable and memorable when they express an aesthetic unique to place. Course is July 6-13 at Taos, New Mexico.
