M.Ag.
The M.Ag. is a terminal degree available with three options.
- Formal report (non-thesis)- minimum of 32 credit hours of course work, including 2 credit hours of HORT 5110, Advanced Horticultural Problems.
- Creative component - minimum of 36 credit hours of course work, including 6 credit hours of HORT 5110. Creative components integrate theory, research, and application and may include a special report, an annotated bibliography, a research project, or other creative activity approved by the student’s advisory committee.
- Professional internship - minimum of 36 credit hours of course work including 6 credit hours of HORT 5110. The internship will consist of professional practice and an informal report. Internships for students with established vocations and career experience must be in areas other than the specific vocational field of the student.
M.S.
The M.S. is a non-terminal degree with two plans available.
- Thesis- requires a minimum of 30 credit hours, including six credit hours of HORT 5000, Thesis Research.
- Creative component- requires a minimum of 36 credit hours, including 2 to 8 hours of HORT 5110. Creative components integrate theory, research, and application and may include a special report, an annotated bibliography, a research project, or other creative activity approved by the student’s advisory committee.
