Due to an overwhelming response, this event is closed. We are at full capacity and can no longer accept any additional registrations.

A new event for both conventional and organic horticulture food crops focused on Spraying is scheduled for March 8, 2018. This event will be held at the Cimarron Valley Research Station and is open to anyone interested. Emphasis will be on how to spray properly.

Registration will begin at 8:30 with welcome at 9 am. Sessions will include how to read a label, worker protection standards, pesticide licensing, recordkeeping, pesticide storage, container disposal, personal protective equipment, sprayer nozzles, and controlling drift. Demonstrations on sprayer maintenance, handheld/backpack sprayer calibration, boom sprayer calibration and airblast sprayer calibration are scheduled. For the final part of the workshop, participants will divide into pecan, grape/fruit, and vegetable areas to see specific spraying techniques demonstrated for each type of crop. A wrap up session with door prizes will be held at 4pm.

Several equipment vendors are scheduled to be in attendance. The Field day is sponsored by Oklahoma State University Horticulture Department, Oklahoma Field Research Service Unit, Noble Research Institute, Oklahoma Pecan Growers' Association, Oklahoma Grape Industry Council, and Oklahoma Fruit and Vegetable Association.
